Third Cracow Conference "Oriental Languages in Translation"
          dedicated to the memory of Wadys Dulęba (1920-1987)

April 7-8, 2008

Organised by Committee of Oriental Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences,
Cracow Branch
Institute of Oriental Philology, Jagellonian University, Cracow, Poland

The Third Cracow Conference "Oriental Languages in Translation", like
the two previous ones, is aimed at the discussion of theoretical and
practical problems of translation, especially from and into Oriental and
African languages. The present edition of the conference is dedicated to
the memory of the late Wł. Dulęba, translator of Persian classical and
modern poetry into Polish. Therefore the focus of the conference will be
on the translation from and into Persian and other Iranian languages as
well as on translating poetry (non-Iranian languages included). However,
other topics are welcome, as well.

Conference languages: English, French and German

The deadline for the proposals: June 15th, 2007. The second circular
will be sent at the beginning of November 2007 to those who declare
their participation.

The papers should not exceed 20 minutes. Full texts will be published in
a conference volume, but the organizers will have right to select them.
